Mystic Valley Laundry Services, LLC, Doing Business As Port City Laundry, is pleased to provide professional wash/dry fold services as well as pick-up and delivery laundry services to our customers. We offer our services subject to your acceptance of the terms and conditions stated below. Your use of Port City Laundry services (“Services”) indicates your agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions contained herein. Please read the following provisions carefully and if you do not so agree, you should inform us and cease using the services immediately. This agreement is strictly between Port City Laundry, its customers and services provided by parties subcontracted by Port City Laundry, and does not in any way constitute or imply any relationship with any other parties.
Pick-up/Delivery for weekly customers will take place on a pre-determined day and frequency, except on certain holidays, or when service is interrupted by weather conditions beyond our control.
Pick-Up/Delivery to “By Request” customers must be arranged by calling 978-306-5055 at least one day before a regularly scheduled Pick-Up.
Port City Laundry reserves the right to determine the pick-up/delivery times and reschedule pick-up/delivery times upon prior notice to its customers.
We offer two levels of pick-up/delivery services:
1) “Weekly Scheduled” Pick-up/Deliveries: Where the customer agrees to a regularly scheduled weekly pick-up and delivery.
2) “By Request” Pick-up/Deliveries: Where the customer chooses to call in for service as opposed to having a regularly scheduled weekly pick-up/delivery.
Port City Laundry will provide each customer with a nylon laundry bag. Port City Laundry reserves the right not to pick-up items that are not in these bags. Weekly customers are provided a free Port City Laundry bag(s) at the beginning of their service plan. If bags are missing from a customer Pick-Up, a replacement charge of $7.99 will be added to the order. At the sole discretion of Port City Laundry, this $7.99 charge may be credited if and when the missing bag is returned.
The customer agrees not to include any of the following items inside their wash and fold laundry bag given to Port City Laundry representatives for service: (i) non-washable items, (ii) items that are labeled for hand washing and/or dry cleaning only, or (iii) any other items not meant for laundering.
The customer is responsible for any and all damage caused by any items left in the customer’s clothing or laundry bag that causes damage to the clothing of any customer, the cleaning machines, or any other property of Port City Laundry or its other parties or customers.
Port City Laundry and its subcontractors are not responsible for, and shall not pay for, any loss, damage or theft of items left unattended by the customer for pick-up or delivery. Port City Laundry will not leave items in the possession of any other person that is not the owner of those items unless the owner has given prior consent. The customer is responsible for ensuring that his/her Port City Laundry bag is in the possession of a Port City Laundry representative.
If the customer misses the scheduled pick-up during any given week Port City Laundry reserves the right to charge a $10.00 missed Pick-Up fee.
Port City Laundry reserves the right to change prices at any time.
Weekly and By Request customers are required to provide credit card information that will be stored securely by Port City Laundry’s thrid party credit card processor. The card is charged at the time of order entry.
Except as described in this paragraph, all sales are final and all payments are non-refundable. Inventory sheets are available per request that should be filled out by the customer. While not required, we request that you fill out these sheets so that there is never any discrepancy to the items in your bag. You will be notified immediately of any discrepancy that is discovered. We will not proceed with washing without resolving said discrepancy with you. All information provided on the inventory sheets by the customer shall be accurate in every way. Port City Laundry is not responsible for any items not listed on the inventory sheets. Port City Laundry reserves the right to complete an inventory sheet for customers who have not provided one themselves based on the items inside the customer’s bag without notice to the customer.
By using our service, you agree that your clothes are suitable to be washed in water, on a normal cycle, and dried using heat in a tumble dryer. We cannot be responsible for any damage to clothing that is not suitable for this standard laundering process. Similarly, we reserve the right to refuse to service items that we feel will be hazardous to our staff, such as items heavily soiled with human or animal waste. This is for the health and safety of our team.
We wash all items together as our standard procedure. But if you divide your clothes into two separate bags before your pick-up, we can run two separate loads. This incurs a $5 Separate Load Charge. Note that we do not separate clothes according to your instruction, and ask that you do the separation and take responsibility for what's in each load. Along the same lines, we can't be held responsible for the re-disposition of colors (aka bleeding) or dimensional changes (aka shrinking or stretching).
Port City Laundry will use reasonable efforts to maintain a high quality cleaning service. Port City Laundry accepts no liability for damage due to normal cleaning of items without care instructions, or for dry clean items placed inside wash and fold bags. Port City Laundry will follow any reasonable instructions provided, including water or drying temperature. However, Port City Laundry does not read cleaning instruction labels of clothes submitted. Accordingly, Port City Laundry accepts no liability for special care items that require special attention, including dry clean only items. Port City Laundry is not responsible for clothing bleeding, shrinking, or otherwise changing as a result of normal washing procedures. Precautions will be taken to alleviate these problems if possible. Port City Laundry and its subcontractors reserve the right to refuse to clean any garment. Port City Laundry and its subcontractors do not guarantee the removal of all stains. Port City Laundry will re-clean items that, in its sole discretion, were not properly cleaned and have not been worn since they were cleaned, at no additional cost. Port City Laundry is not responsible for loss of or damage to any personal or non-cleanable items left in the clothing or laundry bags such as money, jewelry, or any other item. The customer agrees not to leave such items in their clothing or in their laundry bags. Zippers behave unpredictably while cleaning. Although zippers generally are not an issue, the client is notified that there is a possibility of zipper issues while following normal wash procedures, and Port City Laundry does not accept any liability for such issues.
Missing or damaged items must be reported to Port City Laundry within 48 hours of delivery of your laundry, or from the time you pick it up. Failure to report the missing or damaged item within 48 hours shall remove any liability of Port City Laundry for the missing or damaged item.
In the event that any item is lost or damaged by Port City Laundry, Port City Laundry will issue the customer a credit or refund for the value of that item as stated in the following paragraph:
If a customer is able to provide proof of purchase and purchase amount of the lost or damaged item, Port City Laundry will provide a credit at half the cost of a new item, notwithstanding a maximum reimbursement for each individual item of $100, and the maximum total reimbursement per customer of $200. If a customer is unable to provide proof of purchase, Port City Laundry will issue the customer a credit or refund for half the value of that item as specified on readily available retail websites.
This “half of retail” refund value takes into account the average life of the garment, depreciation for the age of the item, and the current replacement cost. If no current replacement cost is available Port City Laundry reserves the right to use the replacement cost of a comparable item currently available. Port City Laundry and its associates are not liable for any preexisting damage to garments or other items and reserves the right to return any item without cleaning it if any preexisting damage is found, or if we have a concern about the colorfastness or the age or weakness of the fabric.
A lost item is defined as an item that came in with an order but was lost during the laundering process either in a laundry machine or by staff members. Customers must provide evidence that the lost item actually came in with their order. It should be noted that Port City Laundry weighs incoming orders, and then weighs the order again when it is completed. By doing this it becomes clear whether or not items were lost in the laundering process. There is typically a weight difference of 3% to 5% between incoming and completed orders.
A damaged item is defined as an item that came in with an order and was damaged by laundry machines, laundry products not provided by the customer or the mishandling of such item by staff. Normal wear and tear of items is not considered damage and will not be covered under this policy.
Port City Laundry reserves the right to utilize any outsourcer, vendor, or outside service provider for any service, without notice to the customer. Port City Laundry is not responsible for, and will not be held liable for, any damage or loss due to the acts or omissions of its vendors, third party outsourcers, or service providers.
